As your eyes dart across the words on this page, I want you to know that we want to welcome you as part of this journey with us. No matter where you find yourself, feeling successful or struggling you have a place amongst us.
None of us likes to struggle … and we certainly don’t want to suffer! So when we find ourselves struggling and suffering, we may typically ask “Why?”
“Why is this happening to me?” Sometimes there can be an obvious reason, and at other times you just can’t seem to fathom it. Let’s just take a deep breath together and look at a potential reason.
Let’s take the example of grapes.
Stay with me don’t stop reading. grapes are no longer a seasonal fruit, and come in an abundance of varieties and these days you can buy them all year round. They are grown on a vine and if you leave a grape vine to its own devices, all it will do is grow large gorgeous looking leafy branches. And at first glance you may think, “What a beautiful healthy vine”, but when you get up close and look deeper you will find very little fruit amongst the lush leafiness.
Why? because in order to grow a good crop of grapes, the branches on the vine have to be pruned back each year so that the vine will focus and channel all its energies on growing fruit, rather than simply looking good.
So you can either have a good looking vine that produces next to no fruit or you can have a vine that is pruned and full of fruit, but you cannot have both. And that is just the illustration Jesus was referring too when He said these words:
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. John 15:1-2 NKJV
Sometimes in life we go through a rough patches and we may wonder what it is all about?!
Be assured this is all part of Gods pruning program, because His plan for your life and mine is not to make us look good. His perfect plan for our lives is that we should bear much fruit and be fruitful woman of God.
“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” John 15:8
